As with the previous game was released as Mega Man Battle Network 4 in two versions, Red Sun and Blue Moon. And just as in the previous game contains the various bosses, and therefore different Battle Chips.
The game is basically the same, but also introduces the so-called "Soul Unison, which forbid MegaMan.Exe merge with another PET and thus take a new powerful form. Every Soul Unison has its own strengths and skills, but they also have some weaknesses that will be noted.

Story:
Five months have passed since Lan and MegaMan.Exe defeated Dr.. Wily, and life has gone back to normal. Everything works just as usual and no threats on the Internet has emerged as yet. But suddenly one day discovers researchers at NAXA a huge asteroid is heading straight toward Earth, and panic is spreading rapidly.
While visiting Lan and MegaMan.Exe Electown with Lance's father, where they run into Lance's friends participating in a local marketing. Lan and MegaMan.Exe connect and run, however, a mysterious NetNavi called ShadeMan.Exe, before they head off to find Lance's father again.
